How Families Pay for Evensong Services

We’re often asked how people can afford to have a midwife. It's definitely a luxury for some households, but we believe your health is one of the best investments you can make! Welcoming your child into the world is a once-in-a-lifetime experience worth the sacrifice. For many families, home birth charges are less expensive in comparison to hospital birth. For more information on what to expect from your Evensong home birth experience, click here.

We do not bill insurance for a few reasons.

  • We want to maintain a small, relationship-based practice.  Billing insurance is really a full-time job which would require us to significantly increase our overhead and therefore also increase our service costs.

  • Insurance companies are notorious for not paying homebirth midwife fees in full but offering their idea of what they should pay.  Once they issue payment, we do not have negotiating power to recover our costs.  As a small business, we can’t take that risk.

“They go above and beyond to care for the women and families they serve.”
